Ben Robert William Robson was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. He was educated at Newlands Preparatory school in Newcastle before attending Stowe school, the same school as Henry Cavill, in Buckinghamshire, England. Ben then attended the University of the West of England and graduated with business honours before heading to Los Angeles to study at the renowned Stella Adler academy of acting.

While in Los Angeles he began his acting career with performances on stage with a lead role in The Goldilocks Effect (2010) which was then followed by more stage roles in Herculaneum (2011). F.U.B.A.R was a pivotal role for Ben. As a result of his performance he was then cast in the short Everything Carries Me To You, co-starring Janet Montgomery and Matthew Rhys. In 2012, Ben landed his most notable role to date as the young male lead, Lucien in The Dark Prince acting opposite the Oscar winning Jon Voight.
